Nothing But The Sax
Nothing But The Sax
Nothing But the Sax Concert Series is a refreshing concept of collaborating three of the next rising saxophonists in contemporary jazz all in one packaged show. Created by artists Dee Lucas and Tony Exum, Jr., the idea and philosophy behind the concept was to introduce fans of contemporary jazz and R&B instrumentals to untapped artists with original music that have been released worldwide yet with no consistent quality performance platforms to be heard.

The Nothing But the Sax show originated in 2015 at the Soiled Dove Underground in Denver, CO with saxmen Dee and Tony. The show went so well, the venue decided to book the package again in 2016. After the 2016 show, it was decided to start expanding the concept by targeting additional markets and adding a third saxophonists to increase market branding. On May 20th in Denver, Dee and Tony invited Minneapolis-based saxophonist and Innervision recording artist Danny Kusz to the package. The show was phenomenal! As a result, The Soiled Dove has already booked the package again for May 19, 2018. Also, the Nothing But the Sax show goes to Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club in the DC area on Sunday, September 10th which features Dee Lucas, Tony Exum, Jr. & Brian Culbertson’s saxophonist Marqueal Jordan. Then on Saturday, October 14th the tour continues in Atlanta, Georgia at St. James Live with Dee Lucas, Tony Exum, Jr. and the sensational Jeanette Harris!

Jeanette Harris
Jeanette Harris is the scintillating saxtress of smooth jazz. This lady understands that energetic and captivating performances matched with uplifting and inspiring vibrations in the music are the solid platinum recipe for success. Fans already recognize her for her wonderful cover of Stevie Wonder's "All I Do," which hit Billboard's smooth jazz singles chart from her previous album, Saxified. Classically trained in both sax and piano, a graduate of Boston's famed Berklee College of Music, and the saxophonist for the late, great Teena Marie's final year of touring, Jeanette has weathered the fiercest challenges to bring the world her own brand of soulful healing vibes. That baptism awaits in her fourth CD, Summer Rain, on which Jeanette had a hand in writing all of the selections except her lovely cover of the Luther Vandross classic "Here and Now."

Jeanette has played major events from The Coombs River Bend Ranch Festival to festivals in Japan and London. She has performed as a side musician with Howard Hewett and Deniece Williams and has opened shows for greats ranging from smooth jazz stars Kirk Whalum, Najee and The Rippingtons to R&B stars Babyface, Phil Perry, and KEM.
Jeanette has a brand new CD titled 'Chocalate Vibes'.

Dee Lucas
National recording artist Dee Lucas has been steadily growing his brand and base beginning with Remembrance in 2004, a tribute to the late legend George Howard. Adding consistency to his young but surprising start, Dee released his sophomore CD, Something to Ride 2, in 2007, which peaked at #10 on the's Top 50 Indie Charts.

In 2010, Dee Lucas released Standing Room Only which was composed and produced by several talented producers including Grammy winner Phil Davis. The CD peaked at #26 on the's Top 50 Indie Charts and #29 on the Billboard jazz charts. In 2012, Rebirth of the Smooth was released as a compilation of Dee's first 3 solo recordings to celebrate what he has accomplished in his steadily rising career, as well as his direction in contemporary jazz. It offers a wide array of styles coming from various producers pushing the envelope in this already competitive genre of jazz. In 2014, The Smooth Factor, Lucas continued to season his contemporary jazz with R&B, and featured the work of such producing heavyweights as LA-based Lew Laing, Jr., and Atlanta-based and Grammy-Award winning Phil Davis.
The journey continues with the latest release titled 'Going Deeper' which peaked at #30 on the Billboard charts

Tony Exum, Jr.
Recording Artist Tony Exum, Jr. saxophone style brings to mind the sultriness of Grover Washington, Jr., the soulfulness of David Sanborn, the silky smoothness of George Howard, and the tender passion of Ronnie Laws. After releasing two sensational recordings titled 'Finally' and 'The One', Tony began sharing stages with the Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Gail Johnson, Aysha, Troop, Nick Collionne, Gerald Albright, Dave Hollister, Norman Connors, Paul Taylor, Pamela Williams and Dave Koz. As a live performer, Exum's smile and sense of humor effortlessly connects him with his audience. He exudes the unique chemistry of passionately seductive soul, flirtatious solos reminiscent of old school R&B, all while bringing his captive audience to their feet as he teases them with (instrumental) battles with fellow band members. Exum commands the stage as if he owns it, while remaining humble, and always willing to share the stage with other industry greats.
