Cornell “CC” Carter has been gracing stages and entertaining thousands of fans with his signature sound around the world for many years. He is known for his phenomenal stage presence, his high-powered audience engagement, and his extraordinary and dynamic vocal skills. His strong love for music developed when he was a young man, growing up in a San Francisco home chock full of Jazz, Blues, Funk, Soul, and Gospel, which drove CC to create a musical gumbo made from ingredients from each of these strong influences.

CC co-wrote and produced his internationally acclaimed 2016 album In The Moment with his friend and co-producer Kirk “KC” Crumpler, an up-and-coming producer and arranger who has produced various award-winning artists. CC performs all lead and background vocals on the album. A collection of 13 diverse tracks spanning R&B, funk, and heart-piercing soul numbers, In The Moment is a mix of the past and present, featuring solid classics and contemporary chart-toppers. Describing the album, CC explains, “The vision was strictly to help bridge the gap between the old school and the new, while bringing Soul back to the forefront in contemporary music.”

Following the release of In The Moment, CC received the UK Bright Star Award for Best Male Artist of 2016. He has gone on to put out several remixes, which have received great acclaim in the US and Europe, and the new full-length album, Vindicated Soul. Released May 19, 2017, Vindicated Soul is a remarkable collection of soul covers that also includes a remix of the classic CC original track “Where Do We Go” ( CC is also featured as a lead vocalist on the track “Love, Peace, and Happiness” from Power of Peace, the new Santana/Isley Brothers collaboration.

CC’s first album Let’s Go Back, recorded in 1996, has recently become a classic R&B collector’s item exclusively in Japan. Radio and media support for his music has come from some major players, and stations that have supported CC with High Rotation include Jazz FM, Mi Soul, BBC Radio, Starpoint Radio (UK Soul Charts), Solar Radio, Delite, Soulpower, JFS, Soultrain, Unity, Soundfusion, Time Radio, and Teerex Radio in Canada. Steve Ripley and the Soulfood Music PR team has been a major asset for his introduction and success in the UK and Europe.

CC has had many once in a lifetime musical experiences to draw from, but two of the highest points of his career so far has been sharing the stage as an opening act for the late great Godfather of Soul, James Brown, and the legendary Ray Charles. In addition to his various headline performances, CC has also opened for other household name brand artists such as The Whispers, The Temptations, Natalie Cole, and Kool and The Gang. As part of Narada Michael Walden’s all-star band, which performs at various NMW Foundation events, CC has shared the stage with other renowned world-class artists such as Neil Schon (Journey) and Dionne Warwick.

Throughout the years, CC has appeared on many albums, and he continues to be one of the most in-demand session vocalists in the San Francisco Bay Area. CC was honored to perform with world-renowned, multi-Platinum Guitarist Carlos Santana, providing background vocals on two tracks that appear on Santana IV, a reunion album released in 2016. His experience and professionalism have made him an A-list background vocalist for Tarpan Studios, appearing on tracks from Grammy and Emmy Award Winning Producer Narada Michael Walden’s new album EVOLUTION, Jennifer Saran’s new albums Merry Christmas, You Are Loved and Walk With Me, and the Jordan Hurwitz album LOVESICK., all released in 2016.
CC loves to share his talents with aspiring artists and veteran performers alike, and has established his own production company, CDC Productions, geared toward assisting these artists to follow their dreams while also teaching them about the time and dedication it takes to reach their goals. He has been involved with many charities and non-profits over the past few years, and he hopes to continue to uplift and engage people with his voice, music, and efforts.
