Many remember him as the house bassist at the Key stone Korner in San Francisco\, ferociously pushing the limits of his ins trument while maintaining a strong groove with the likes of Sam Rivers\, Art Pepper\, Rahsaan Roland Kirk\, Elvin Jones\, Freddie Hubbard\, Dexter Gordon\, and Horace Silver.\nHe has toured Europe with Art Blakely and t he Jazz Messengers\, South America with Cal Tjader\, the U.S. with Rosema ry Clooney\, and Africa with Bombole. Compelled to explore and excel\, Am berder is known for his sensitive interaction with other musicians and vo calists\, as well as his breadth of musical interest.\nHe plucks and bows a variety of acoustic basses\, as well as electric\, freshly and skillfu lly exploring jazz\, funk\, blues\, pop\, and classical with an ebullient stage presence.
