The Wee Trio burst onto the scene with Capitol Diner Vol. 1, winning huge international acclaim and being picked for the Top Ten CDs of ’08 by The San Francisco Chronicle, Boston’s Patriot Ledger and All About Jazz. The ‘Bi-Coastal’ band (with James living in New Orleans) toured extensively, playing across the US at venues and festivals such as The Green Mill, The Ottawa Jazz Festival, Jazz at The Bistro, Le Poisson Rouge, The Fox River Jazz Festival, Snug Harbor and the Jazz Bakery. In 2010 the release of Capitol Diner, Vol. 2: Animal Style, an exciting evolution of the trio’ sound, brought a fresh round of excitement and praise from critics and fans alike.

With a coast to coast tour in 2012 the trio unveiled their most intriguing project to date: a marriage of their distinct sound to the music of the iconic David Bowie. Ashes to Ashes: A David Bowie INTRAspective tuned in an excited new audience to the band’s sound as well as becoming a critic’s favorite. Their current project, a record of new and classic material recorded live at the Bistro, is due out in September 2013.
