Ollie Dudek is a San Francisco native who started playing the electric and upright bass in his teens. His stylistic influences revolve mainly around the musical genres of Swing, Blues, Bebop, Afro Cuban and Classical. In regards to musical education Ollie spent much of his time studying music at San Francisco State University and listening to his favorite artists within the Bay Area and New York music scene. Ollie has been Called a "gifted young player" by music editor and reviewer Scott Yanow. His melodic bass lines and rhythmic pulse drives the music forward towards new and exciting heights. Ollie earns a living playing local venues, fairs, and festivals throughout the San Francisco Bay Area with a variety of talented musicians some of which include Gerald Becket, Yancie Taylor, Gerry Grosz, Terrence Brewer, Danny Brown, Michael Parsons, Smith Dobson V, Jay Sanders, Ulf Bjorkbom, Grant Levin, Omar Aran, Ben Stolorow, Mad and Eddie Duran, Belinda Blair, Jordan Samuels, Tom Griesser, Dan Foltz, Joe Cohen and many more. Major musical influences include Charlie Parker, Oscar Pettiford, Johann Sebastian Bach, Duke Ellington, Wilbur Ware, Grant Green, Scott Laffaro, Paul Chambers, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Benny Golson, Kenny Dorham, Elvin Jones, Paul Motian, Billie Holiday and Charles Mingus. Ollie is available for hire to play music for private events including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, corporate events, funerals, divorce parties, and non-profit charity events.
