  a composer. A prolific and versatile artist of musical depth and sophisti
 cation\, Assad's music embraces a wide variety of styles\, which are often
  merged\, as to fashion original musical concepts. &nbsp\;\n\nHighlights i
 nclude the premiere of &quot\;Terra Brasilis&quot\; a five-minute fantasy 
 on the Brazilian National Anthem commissioned by OSESP and its new music d
 irector Marin Alsop\, to be performed in March 2012.&nbsp\; Also in March\
 , Ms. Assad will be performing in the world premiere of her concerto &ldqu
 o\;Scattered&rdquo\; with the Symphony Parnassus.&nbsp\; This work is the 
 first known concerto for scat vocalist\, piano and orchestra.&nbsp\; In Ap
 ril\, the release of Home\, a new recording exploring Brazilian themes wri
 tten by Assad with percussionists Keita Ogawa and Yousif Sheronick on Adve
 nture Music.&nbsp\; Ms. Assad has been commissioned to write for the Hidde
 n World of Girls Symphonic Project under the direction of Marin Alsop to b
 e premiered in June 2012 as part of the 50th Anniversary of the Cabrillo M
 usic Festival. The summer also brings two commissions in celebration of th
 e 25th anniversary of the BRAVO! Vail Music Festival with a solo piano pie
 ce for pianist Anne-Marie McDermott and another work\, featuring the festi
 val&rsquo\;s former music directors: flutist Eugenia Zuckerman and violini
 st Ida Kavafian.&nbsp\; October brings the world premiere of a new concert
 o for two guitars and chamber orchestra featuring Sergio and Odair Assad\,

 e of the most versatile and sought-after percussionists in New York City.
 \nHe started his music career on drum set at the age of 15.After performin
 g regularly in Tokyo for several years\, Keita decided to pursue his music
 al studies overseas. He was accepted into the prestigious Berklee College 
 of Music in fall of 2005 where he studied with legendary musicians and edu
 cators Manuel &ldquo\;Egui&rdquo\; Castrillo\, Jamey Haddad\, Tito De Grac
 ia\, David Rosado\, and Mark Walker. Seeking full immersion into the world
  of Brazilian percussion\, Keita relocated to Rio de Janeiro for 3 months 
 and studied with the some of the country's most respected musicians- Jorgi
 nho do Pandeiro\, Celsinho Silva\, Kiko Freitas\, and Marcio Bahia among o
 thers.\n\nSince his arrival in America\, Keita has performed with some of
