back stage — music notes
I have a crazy idea!
Next Tuesday night at Yoshi’s Oakland, come to the Amina Figarova show, and if you don’t like it, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will put you on the guest list for another show. It’s that easy.
This is a tight ensemble featuring some of the finest players from the Netherlands. The European jazz scene is full of innovative players putting an individual stamp on this great American art form. This group performs Amina Figarova’s own compositions. The music is varied: some is swingin’; some is more cerebral. But it’s all jazz, and it’s a chance for you to hear some great new music.
The line up will be:
Amina Figarova - piano
Ernie Hammes - trumpet
Marc Mommaas - tenorsax
Bart Platteau - flutes
Jeroen Vierdag - bass
Chris " Buckshot" Strik - drums
It’s music like this that brought me here. It’s the music I love and I want to share it with you. Her show in 2009 was one of the highlights of the year, and I’d hate for you to miss them this time through.
So here’s the deal: check her out at www.aminafigarova.com . If you like what you hear get a ticket and come to the show. If you don’ t like the show, email me email@example.com and I will put you on the guest list for another show.
I hope to see you there!
