Legendary salsa/latin jazz pianist, Eddie Palmieri returns to Yoshi's San Francisco with a truly unique all-star ensemble.  The ensemble called the The Pan Caribbean Summit is made up of a who's-who of players from Cuba, Puerto Rico as well as New York. This group was hand selected especially for the Yoshi's gigs.  On The front line are two Grammy Award winners, saxophonist David Sanchez and trumpeter Brian Lynch. Holding down the battery are percussionists Giovanni Hidalgo (Paul Simon, Mickey Hart, Zakir Hussain) and Horacia "El Negro" Hernandez (McCoy Tyner, Carlos Santana, Tito Puente).  Rounding out the group is bassist Carlos Henriquez, a member of Wynton Marsalis' Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
Eddie Palmieri, known for his charismatic power and bold innovative drive, has a musical career that spans over 50 years as a bandleader of Salsa and Latin Jazz orchestras.  With a discography that includes 36 titles, Mr. Palmieri has been awarded Nine Grammy Awards. Eddie Palmieri, a restless, yet instinctive artist, embraces the future of his music by unapologetically blazing a distinctive musical path to the delight of fans across the globe. A true powerhouse of brilliance, known for his astute arranging skills and historic compositions, Mr. Palmieri has shown that time is infinite with respect to his repertoire as he continues to thrill audiences throughout the world with his legendary style.
