Ladytron DJ Set featuring Reuben Wu
The members of Ladytron have been accomplished DJs long before forming their band. Reubun Wu, keyboardist, songwriter, and producer of Ladytron, continues to evolve his DJ career today.
LADYTRON earned a decade's worth of acclaim by relentlessly pushing boundaries, carving out new sonic and conceptual space and refusing to abide any formula or trend. The band has a large cult following worldwide has produced tracks for Christina Aguilera, and opened for artists like Soulwas, Bjork, Goldfrapp, and Nine Inch Nails with the invitation of Trent Reznor. Bands to open for Ladytron include Simian, The Presents, SONIO, Geographer, Asobi Seksu, Mount Sims, Crocodiles, and Franz Ferdinand.
Miles the DJ of Popscene and Live 105 Subsonic
Miles the DJ is a resident at club "Popscene" in San Francisco and host of Live 105's weekly electronic radio show "Subsonic." He spins every year at Live 105's BFD and Subsonic Halloween Ball where he recently played with Underworld, Bag Raiders, DJ Shadwo, 2MANYDJ's and Crystal Castles. Over the years, you've probably seen Miles share the stage with Cut Copy, Foster the People, R.A.C., DJ AM, Death Cab for Cuties, The Faint, and a host of others at Bay Area venues like The Rickshaw Stop, The Independent, and Mezzanine.
DJ Esau of The Flying Skulls
ESAU (aka Jacob Her) is fueled by a genre-hopping addiction. His resume jumps from grade school band geek to meticulous sound engineer to LA post-punk dance rock frontman, to now ESAU: a born again music producer and DJ in San Francisco. ESAU’s buttery, hook-driven synth and vocoding skills got him quickly recruited by 1320 Records for the glitch hop heavyweights, The Flying Skulls.
ESAU’s headlining set injects a dose of floor rumbling electro bangers a la MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize, Siriusmo, and A-Trak, with the occassional Daft Punk throwback for a sonic breather. In after-hours mode, he caresses the ears with the nu-disco synth pop of Classixx, Miami Horror, Chromeo, and LCD Soundsystem, while dabbling in moodier soundscapes of ambient breaks and tech house for flavor.
ESAU’s bipolar DJ genres:
chill: Nudisco, Indie Dance, Funky House, House, Tech House
fire: Electro House, Breaks, Glitch Hop, Drum & Bass, Dubstep
Currently one half of The Flying Skulls (1320 Records) masterminded by J.Tonal.
