This series was started in 1991 and has grown to become an international event, having played festivals and theatres through out the country. Founder, Mark Hummel is a road warrior - a true Blues Survivor. Along the way, he has crafted his own trademark harmonica sound - a subtle combination of tone, phrasing and attack combined with a strong sense of swing. These shows have grown to be a much-heralded event & continue to draw sellout crowds wherever they appear.
Grammy nominee & multiple Blues Music Award winner Charlie Musselwhite has been in the music biz for over 50 years, with countless albums and soundtrack scores to his credit. Musselwhite has recorded or performed with everyone from Muddy Waters, Mick Jagger, John Lee Hooker, Bonnie Raitt to INXS.
2009 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominee Lee Oskar (original member of WAR) is most known for his world famous harmonicas and his playing on WAR's hits like"World is a Ghetto", "Spill the Wine", "Slippin into to Darkness", "Why Can't We Be Friends","Lowrider", "City Country City", "Me and Baby Brother".
Former original Robert Cray band member, former vocalist for Roomful of Blues and Santana, Shanachie recording artist Curtis Salgado is not only the inspiration for the Blues Brothers' act (Bulushi dedicated the first album to Curtis as well as naming Cab Calloway's character after Curt). A double threat on harmonica as well as one of the greatest soul and blues vocalists of his generation, Salgado's newest release is his best so far,"Clean Getaway".
