Famous for their song "White Bird", a melancholy ballad that stood out not only for its memorable vocal melody and "seize the day" message, but also for front man David Laflamme's

slow-burning violin solo. Multiple albums were laced with classic cuts such as "Hot Summer Day", "Bombay Calling," "Girl With No Eyes", "Wasted Union Blues", "Time Is", "Dolphins", "Misery Loves Company", and many more you'll remember. Today the band performs the music of It's A Beautiful Day along with newer material, moving effortlessly from an almost folksy sound to ethereal jazz to psychedelic to straight on rock & roll performing selections from three new CDs and over seven of their previous albums. The show is enhanced with David Laflamme's delightful reminiscing of the San Francisco Summer of Love Days and 40 plus years of

performing. The current band boasts the longest continuous lineup of 8 years with 4 of the 6 members going back 25-40 years! David LaFlamme on violin and vocals, Linda LaFlamme vocals, original drummer Val Fuentes, 28 year veteran Toby Gray on bass, Rob Espinosa on guitar and Gary Thomas on keyboards.

Fishbear will be opening the show:

Fishbear blends many musical styles to create a unique and exuberant sound incorporating elements of ska, indie, classic rock, klezmer, jazz, and more. The group is part of a growing number of bands that meld genres in creative ways... like Beirut, Gogol Bordello, and Vampire Weekend, which are taking what was once thought of as 'world' music and making it into something new and exciting.

Fishbear has a seasoned stage presence. Each member of the group has been performing in bands since their early teens and all are accomplished on more than one instrument.

Fishbear has an egalitarian chemistry and work ethic so the contributions of each band member are reflected in their songs. Attending an arts magnet school in Santa Rosa, California provided an opportunity for the guys to supplement their eclectic musical interests and flair for popular music with experimentation and performance in forms like jazz, classical, chamber music and concert choir. These dynamics and the band's openness to innovation contribute to the Fishbear sound audiences are beginning to love and admire.

Distinctive in many senses, Fishbear's music appeals to a diverse fan base, with melodies, harmonies and virtuosity to please musically sophisticated tastes while exhibiting sufficient bite and attitude to attract younger audiences in search of release and wild dancing.

Fishbear is:

Travis Hendrix, keyboards, sax, and vocals

Hadley Black, lead guitar and vocals

Josh Jackson, trumpet and vocals

Gaven Hayden-Town, bass and vocals

Sebastian Shader, trombone, mandolin, violin, vocals
