DESCRIPTION:\nBorn in a log cabin in Big Sur CA\, cello-goblin Rushad Eggle
ston is a masterful improviser and a wildly inventive performer. He's know
n for his revolutionary cello playing\, semi-acrobatics\, and motivational
songs from his own land of Sneth. Two decades of practicing and meditatio
n led Rushad to invent bluegrass cello\, co-found folk-bluegrass sensation
Crooked Still\, and earn a Grammy nomination with the all-star group Fidd
lers 4. In 2007 he strapped on his cello and unleashed the cello-driven ro
ck band Tornado Rider.\nHe attended the prestigious Berklee College of Mus

all-press album called Nico and Rushad with fellow musician Nico Georis\,
Eggleston made his large-scale recording debut with his Compass Records re
lease with the group Fiddlers 4\, which was nominated for a 2002 Grammy\,
as well as with Darol Anger's Republic of Strings\, bringing him to nation
al prominence. Eggleston has toured extensively with Darol Anger's Republi
c of Strings\, Fiddlers 4\, and the alternative folk/bluegrass group he he
lped found\, Crooked Still. Crooked Still released two CDs with Eggleston\
, in 2004 and 2006. He also released a more experimental album\, Playhouse
of the Universe\, with The Wild Band of Snee\, as well as another of his
goofier self-titled albums. Eggleston left Crooked Still in November 2007.
Eggleston has been an instructor at Mark O'Connor's fiddle camps and conf
erences from 2001 to 2007. He has also taught cello at Maine Fiddle Camp a
t camp NEOFA.\nEggleston now leads\, produces\, and tours nationally with
his band\, Tornado Rider\, based out of Oakland\, CA\, and with other arti

t as she neared the end of high school she chose to attend the prestigious
