DESCRIPTION:\nTom plays all styles of music including rock\, blues\, jazz\,
  classical\, Latin styles (Spanish\, Brazilian\, Flamenco)\, and country. 
 His preferences are funk/jazz on the electric side\, and most anything in 
 the Latin spectrum on the nylon-string\, particularly Brazilian and Flamen
 co music. &ldquo\;All of those styles groove and syncopate\, which is what
  I like.&quot\;\nPlays electric and acoustic styles equally well. Can stre
 tch out on a funk jam as well as handle an intricate Flamenco solo. A self
 -taught guitarist\, he studied jazz in college\, but was already gigging p
 rofessionally by then. &ldquo\;I had figured out\, for the most part\, wha
 t they were doing &ndash\; they basically just told me what to call it.&rd
 quo\;\nToured with Merl Saunders\, keyboardist with Jerry Garcia and the G
 rateful Dead. Also worked with Jerry Garcia Band/Elvin Bishop keyboardist 
 Melvin Seals\, Tower of Power vocalist Lenny Williams\, and bluegrass ente
 rtainer Peter Rowan. Extensive experience as studio musician at Fantasy St
 udios in Berkeley\, Plant Studio in Sausalito\, Prairie Sun in Cotati\, Me
 sa Recording in Sebastopol.\nExtensive background in musical theatre inclu
 ding Jesus Christ Superstar\, Evita\, Hair\, Cabaret\, Godspell\, Shakespe
 are's Twelfth Night (co-composing music for rock adaptation)\, etc. Has al
 so performed with The Santa Rosa Symphony Orchestra and as featured solois
