“Louder Than Your TV – Well, as a drummer I usually am louder than your TV. But I was thinkin' more metaphorically here. With video screens taking up so much of our time and attention via TV, video games, computers, etc. It often seems that the other stuff in our lives has to do a bit of battle to compete for our attention,” says drummer Wally Schnalle about the title of his latest CD. Along with his usual band mates guitarist Jeff Massanari, sax player Charles McNeal and bassist Jason Muscat, Wally is rejoined by long time musical cohort Murray Low on keyboards. Wally is an innovative and creative drummer who goes beyond the traditional boundaries of jazz, funk and fusion. His ever-daring compositions cross a wide variety of musical styles. This new CD is Wally’s sixth as a leader and contains 10 new jazz-fusion compositions by Schnalle. Wally’s ensembles have been part of the Bay Area jazz scene for over twenty years and always promise an exciting and fiery performance.

"Schnalle grooves with grit and grace…..Schnalle's quartet is awesome." Chuck Berg , JazzTimes

"Fierce modern jazz chops.."Adam Budofsky , Modern Drummer

"Schnalle is a serious force on drums. He plays with terrific energy and the kind of controlled abandon needed to propel his hard-driving compositions." Joel Roberts, AllAboutJazz.com
