Kiho'alu - Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Tour
February 23, 2014
feat. George Kuo
Hawaii's premiere slack key guitarists
Sunday, February 23
George Kuo is known as one of Hawaii's premiere Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar artists playing in the traditional nahenahe (sweet, soothing) style, bridging today's generation with the older generations. George has been twice recognized with excellence in recording achievement by the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts, Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, for Instrumental Album of the year in 1995 for Hawaiian Touch and 1996 for Aloha No Na Kupuna - Love for the Elders.
Due to illness of Martin Pahinui and doctors orders not to travel, ERNIE CRUZ, JR. will be joining George Kuo and Aaron Mahi at Yoshi's Oakland on February 23rd. Ernie is the lead singer of the 1990’s Hawaiian super group Ka’au Crater Boys. He is a multi time Na Hoku Hanohano award winner both with Ka’au and as a solo artist. He has toured with HAPA and Amy Hanaiali’i Gilliom. Besides the traditional Kiho’alu…Hawaiian slack key guitar…Ernie is sure to sing some of his hits and join George and Aaron on blending their voices with full Hawaiian heart. Don’t miss this one of a kind kanikapila with three of Hawaii’s top musicians. Also, please send out your good thoughts to Martin Pahinui for a speedy and complete recovery.
