Rhonda Benin has a voice described as sweet, sultry, like caramel sweetened with honey.
Her career has run the full gambit of musical opportunities, not only a GRAMMY nominated artist, she has appeared on more than 100 recordings as a background vocalist, and has worked extensively in Theatre. Rhonda has worked and recorded with artists such as Mickey Hart, Carlos Santana, Maria Mauldar, Holly Near, and Hugh Masekela. Rhonda’s vocals are so beautiful they belong in a museum, which is exactly where they are1 In 2005, Rhonda’s vocals were added to the permanent collection at the Museum Of The African Diaspora. Now residing in the Bay Area, Yoshi’s Oakland Is glad to welcome this accomplished chanteuse.
