Israeli born, New York City based guitar guru Roni Ben-Hur is widely respected by his peers, by jazz educational institutions and by the press as one of the'elite players in jazz today.”(Nick Bewsey, Prime Time A&E.) "Everything Roni does is beautiful. He has the magic touch” comments jazz guitar master Russell Malone. "Great feeling, taste and impeccable easy swing"writes Mark Gardner, The Jazz Journal (UK) on Roni's style. And in a rare jazz write up in the The Wall Street Journal, Nat Hentoff praised Roni Ben-Hur & Gene Bertoncini for their 2008 duet release, Smile, as “a lyrically meditative dialogue.” While Jazz.com's Mark Saleski commented that Smile "compares favorably with one of the best jazz duo records of all time." Ben-Hur’s signature sound infuses jazz with melodies and rhythms from many cultures. His 2009 release Fortuna gained unanimous raves as another fine chapter in his swinging and emotionally gripping book of jazz.
