How Sweet the Sound:

Jane Siberry, Barbara Higbie, Linda Tillery

Three extraordinary musicians come together as a triad tonight to deliver soul-stirring harmonies, stunning virtuosity, and ethereal originals, all served up with humor and sexy spirit.

Jane Siberry, the Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for such hits as “Calling All Angels”, culls from her extensive repertoire of music celebrated internationally for its innovative, elegant beauty. With a history of awards, film credits and recordings too numerous to mention, Jane dazzles in live performance and demonstrates why Interview Magazine called her “a superstar of the imagination with a passion for the truth.”

Linda Tillery, leader of the renowned Cultural Heritage Choir, is one of the Bay Area’s most treasured performers. Producer, cultural historian, arranger, and Grammy-nominated musician, she began her career in San Francisco as lead vocalist with the psychedelic/soul band The Loading Zone and went on to sing and play drums on over 40 albums with artists like Kenny Loggins, Santana, Huey Lewis, Bobby McFerrin and Holly Near. She takes gospel, blues and jazz vocals to new heights, while showcasing her legendary mastery as a percussionist.

Barbara Higbie is a pianist, violinist, singer/songwriter and Grammy nominee known for her genre-bending compositions and soulful improvisational ability. Her Live at Montreux  recording with Darol Anger, Mike Marshall and Andy Narell remains a classic.  A longtime Windham Hill recording star, she has also released a number of solo albums and performed with everyone from Bonnie Raitt and Pete Seeger to Greg Brown, Bobby McFerrin and the Kronos Quartet. The esteemed critic Phil Elwood said of Barbara, “…one of the most exciting musicians I have ever heard, full of life and brilliant in her playing.”

Each woman is a bandleader in her own right;  as an ensemble, they use powerful voices and inventive musical styles to fuse gospel, jazz, world music, bluegrass, blues and rock - creating an exhilarating performance, which includes skillfully interwoven solo numbers. You won’t want to miss a rare opportunity to hear these three stunning artists onstage together.

Note:  The show, in celebration of National Women’s History Month, is also a benefit for Linda Tillery’s health insurance.
