Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland’s Youth Concert Fund and Friend Raiser is to increase the awareness and understanding of the arts, music and film making through show casing the experiences made possible from the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens “Graduate to Go” grant. With the support of the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens the arts program enables student members the opportunity to engage in projects that create participatory, collaborative, interactive experiences tailored to the needs and interests of our youth.

The Taco Bell Foundation for Teens “Graduate to Go” grant supports the music program that is dedicated to helping teens excel in their academics. The program has a full curriculum that teaches students everything from song writing to music production. Students explore, analyze and create all genres of music and explore all context of music. We at BGCO propose to enhance the overall creativity of teens. We allow student members to create and produce various forms of media and music. Teen members have the opportunity to explore within themselves and learn to cooperate with one another. BGCO’s minimum Academic requirements will need to be met for teens to access the music studio.

BGCO’s proposed experience is tied to the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens mission through our common goal to get our teen members to graduate from high school. By having the music studio and attaching academic requirements to participate has inspired our teen members to do good academically.
