Bernadette Cooper & Klymaxx

April 13, 2013

Saturday, April 13
8pm $22 & 10pm $22

open dance floor for both shows!

KLYMAXX, the legendary platinum-selling all female band, is synonymous with such chart hits as “The Men All Pause,” “Meeting in the Ladies Room,” “Sexy,” “I'd Still Say Yes,” “Divas Need Love Too,” and the band's biggest hit, the top five Billboard single, “I Miss You.”

And when you think of the groundbreaking Pop/R&B funk unit, you can't help but also think of its founding leader, musician, writer and producer, Bernadette Cooper.

It is the inventive and charismatic Cooper who embodies KLYMAXX: her audacious attitude, the intuitive comedic timing, her inspirational dissertations on the love of self, the irony-by-design--it all serves to forge the fierce, funky and fabulous Diva experience that is KLYMAXX's entertaining, enduring renown.

As a solo artist, Bernadette's critically acclaimed album, “Drama According to Bernadette Cooper,” featured the top five single, “I Look Good,” which iconic entertainer Bette Midler proudly adopted as the opening theme of her popular “Diva Las Vegas” show.

When the multi-faceted Cooper isn't making music for KLYMAXX or her solo interests, she is finding and developing new talent, often from the ground up, as she did with Madame X, hand picking members of the girl group and writing and producing their hit, “Just That Type of Girl.” Halle Berry's attempt to emulate Cooper was by far one of Saturday Night Live's best comedic episodes.

Now, the ever evolving Bernadette unveils her latest musical adventure - KLYMAXX Presents Bernadette Cooper “Diva & A Turntable.”

A component of KLYMAXX, “Diva & A Turntable” is a show within a show, during which Bernadette presents a musical experience that is at once high energy and intimate. The stage show features fan favorites, “I Look Good (An Interview with Bernadette Cooper,)" “The Men All Pause,” “Divas Need Love Too,” “The Underground," “Sexy,” “Just That Type of Girl,” “Meeting in the Ladies Room,” and more.

“Diva & A Turntable" personifies the KLYMAXX movement and Bernadette Cooper on another level. The dynamic, funky presentation satiates longtime fans of the band, while Bernadette reaches out to a new demographic that spans generations and musical tastes.

Regarding her exciting new live undertaking, Cooper says, “I have given years, time and love to creating KLYMAXX and its brand. Now it's time to be my epic self without compromise. In that sense, KLYMAXX is the theater and Bernadette Cooper is the act.”
