For her Yoshi’s debut as a leader, Rebecca brings us her stunning Quartet featuring Spanish born Jazz pianist, Alex Conde and special guests including flamenco dancer Melissa Cruz and Brasilian guitarist Ian Faquini. The evening will feature originals by Kleinmann, Conde and Faquini, music of Baden Powell and Tony Williams and compositions written for Rebecca by the great Hermeto Pascoal

Rebecca’s international career has taken her to perform in Brazil, Argentina, Africa, Europe and Australia including Melbourne’s International Women in Jazz Festival, Birdland in NYC and the Blue Whale in Los Angeles. Closer to her Oakland home she has graced stages of the San Jose Jazz Festival, Yoshi’s, California Jazz Conservatory, the Sound Room, Paramount Theatre, Oracle Stadium and the SF Jazz Center.

An explorer at heart, she rockets and flows between genres, leading her Jazz Quartet, playing in Duo Brasiliense with Ian Faquini, Brazilian Choro, Forró dances with Dona Francisca, Indie band La Dee Da, singing in Taylor Annointed Praise Choir and accompanying flamenco artists including dancer Melissa Cruz and singer Kina Mendez. She released her debut album “Raio de Sol” in 2005 and has since recorded and performed with world-class artists in a wide range of styles.
