Corky Siegel

Corky Siegel is known internationally as one of the world’s great blues harmonica players, and is a celebrated composer, blues pianist, singer, songwriter, band leader and author.

Along with the likes of John Cage, Steve Reich, Phillip Glass, and Meredith Monk, he is the recipient of a Meet the Composer/Reader’s Digest Commissioning Program for New American Music grant for chamber music composition resulting in his Chamber Blues ensemble’s popular Aunt Lila’s Suite; he has also been honored with the Illinois Arts Council Fellowship Award for Music Composition, the Chicago Music Awards’ Lifetime Achievement Award, and induction into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame.

Born Mark Paul Siegel in Chicago in 1943, Corky’s professional music career began when he founded the now legendary Siegel-Schwall Band in Chicago in 1964 with guitarist Jim Schwall. The group was a major component of the young generation of white blues artists—also including Paul Butterfield, Charlie Musselwhite, Harvey Mandel, Barry Goldberg, Nick Gravenites and Michael Bloomfield—who learned the historic Chicago blues style at the feet and hands of such towering figures as Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy and Sam Lay.

Howard Levy

Howard Levy is a musician without limits. His musical adventures include journeys into jazz, pop, rock, world music, Latin, classical, folk, blues, country, theater, and film. He has appeared on hundred of cd’s, won a Grammy (1997), won a Joseph Jefferson Award (1986) for Best Original Music for a Play, and has performed many times on American and European television and radio.

Universally acknowledged as the world’s most advanced diatonic harmonica player, Howard developed a fully chromatic style on the standard 10 ­ hole diatonic harmonica, revolutionizing harmonica playing and taking the instrument into totally new territory. He is also an accomplished pianist and composer, and plays many other instruments as well, including flute, ocarina, mandolin, saxophone, and percussion.

Howard was a founding member of the Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. He toured and recorded two albums with Kenny Loggins, and formed Trio Globo with Eugene Friesen and Glen Velez . Howard has also performed and/or recorded with Dolly Parton, Styx, Bobby McFerrin, Paul Simon, John Prine, Paquito D’Rivera, Ken Nordine, and many others, as well as touring and recording extensively in Europe with artists such as Rabih Abou Khalil and Michael Riessler.

Duke Robillard

Since starting his musical career in 1967 by founding and fronting Roomful of Blues, Duke Robillard has been at the forefront of Blues, Swing and classic R&B/Jump blues for over 40 years earning him his legendary status while influencing and inspiring countless legions of musicians and fans worldwide.

He has been nominated for 2 Grammy Awards for traditional blues album of the year in 2007/2010 and named Blues Music Awards Traditional male Blues Artist of the Year in 2010.

He has won the Blues Music Award for guitarist of the year 5 times, being the second most honored for that award and has garnered no less than 21 BMA nominations in various categories since 1989.

He was honored with a Blues Foundation “Keeping the Blues Alive” award for producer of the year in 2004. Besides winning numerous international awards from France and Canada, Duke received the prestigious Rhode Island Pell Award for “Excellence in the Arts” in 2007.

Leading his own group Duke has toured non-stop for the past 30 some years recording more than 20 critically acclaimed CDs under his own name. He has toured as guitarist with Tom Waits and the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Recorded with the likes of Bob Dylan, Ruth Brown, Jay McShann, Pinetop Perkins, Kim Wilson, Jimmy Witherspoon , Rosco Gordon, Maria Muldaur and many, more.

Duke and his band were nominated for band of the year in 2010

Duke was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame in May of 2014.

Duke’s new CD for Stony Plain Records in 2015, titled “The Acoustic Blues and Roots of Duke Robillard”, is the “Acoustic Blues Album of the Year” for the 2016 Blues Music Awards and #45 of the 50 best blues albums of 2015 by Living Blues Magazine.
